Classroom StagesClassroom Stages is presented in partnership with CODE, the Council of Ontario Drama and Dance Educators. Classroom Stage One is for Grades K to 4 - The Name Jar This day-long workshop is designed to help the elementary school teacher achieve the Ministry of Education curriculum expectations in Drama and Dance by giving them strategies and techniques for integrating the objectives into their daily lesson plans. These day-long workshops are designed to support the elementary school teacher deliver the Ministry of Education Curriculum expectations in Drama and Dance by providing high-yield strategies and techniques for integrating the objectives into their daily lesson plans and improving student achievement. Written and facilitated by current Ontario Drama and Dance teachers, the content will be practical, hands-on, realistic and measurable. The workshops will explore issues of naming and identity through two source texts (picture books and novels) using drama and dance techniques, and will emphasize cross-curricular connections and links to the new elementary curriculum, including a review of report card writing strategies in the Drama and Dance component.
