Intern Directors 2013 at the Neil Munro Intern Directors Project at the Shaw Festival

Congratulations to Rose Plotek and Paul Van Dyck, who were chosen as the two Intern Directors for the 2013 season at the Shaw Festival.

Rose_Plotek_2Rose Plotek is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s Directing Program. Recent directing credits: The Fever (SummerWorks Performance Festival); Barrel Crank (SummerWorks Performance Festival); Everyday is a beautiful day (Cohort Theatre/Rhubarb Festival); Me Happy (SummerWorks Performance Festival); Seven Jewish Children (Crow’s Theatre/ CBC Radio/ Teesri Duniya Theatre); La Déposition (Théâtre Misceo); Buddy (SideMart Theatrical Grocery). Assistant directing credits include: The Test (Company Theatre); The Cherry Orchard (Shaw Festival); Cloud 9 (Mirvish Productions) Festen (Company Theatre); Top Girls (Soulpepper). Rose also works as a dramaturge for new creation and performance works, recent collaborations include: Iphigenia (Theatre Centre); LEAR (World Stage at Harbourfront Centre); Brothers (SummerWorks Performance Festival). Rose teaches in the Drama Studies Department at Glendon College.

Paul_VanDyckPaul Van Dyck has been writing, directing, producing, and performing theatre in Montreal for over ten years.  As Artistic Director of Rabbit in a Hat Productions, Paul created the acclaimed plays The Cyclops, Sahara Crossing, Haunted, The Harvester, and co-created Miss Sugarpuss Must Die! His adaptation of John Milton’s Paradise Lost has won many awards in New York and across Canada while his adaptation of Aphra Behn’s Oroonoko will premiere at The Montreal Arts Interculturels in February 2013.  Based on his contribution to the dramatic arts, the Montreal English Critics Circle presented Paul with the Revelation Award, while Nightlife Magazine named him one of the top emerging artists in the city.
