The annual Theatre Ontario Festival is:

  • a showcase of outstanding community theatre productions
  • a classroom for passionate, dedicated community theatre artists
  • a celebration of excellence in community theatre
  • a destination bringing together theatre lovers from across the province

2014 Hosts

Theatre Ontario Festival 2014 is co-hosted by Theatre Sarnia, the Western Ontario Drama League, and Theatre Ontario.

2014 Festival Performance Schedule

Individual shows are $25 per night. The brunch is $32. There is a package of four shows and the brunch for $130.

You can order online (there is a fee for on-line ticket orders) or call the box office at 1.519.344.7469 (open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm).  In order to get the package you must call the Box Office.

The performances will be at the Imperial Theatre, 168 N. Christina St., Sarnia (map)

The awards brunch will be at the Festival Hotel at noon.

2014 Adjudicator

Bea Quarrie

Our Theatre Ontario Festival 2014 adjudicator is Bea Quarrie.

As an adjudicator, director, and performer, Bea has always believed in the transformative power of the arts.She has directed over 85 shows, some represented Canada at International Festivals in Japan, Germany, Aruba, and Venezuela, as well as in Canada.She has been active in educational, amateur, and professional theatre, served on regional, provincial, and national committees, arts councils, theatre companies and theatre service organizations.She has adjudicated all over Ontario for Sears and regional Festivals, co-founded five professional theatre companies in Peterborough, taught and directed in China, performed in over 100 productions, and is the subject of two films.In her spare time she paints and exhibits large abstracts with the Abstract Ten group of painters.Directing Hedda Gabler (Peterborough) and Spamalot (Cobourg) back to back this past year, exemplifies the range of her interests.

2014 Playwright-In-Person

David_S_CraigOur Playwright-in-Person at Festival 2014 is David S. Craig.  David will be reading on the afternoon of Thursday, May 15.

David S. Craig is one of Canada’s most prolific and successful dramatists.  He has written 29 professionally produced dramatic works including his hit comedy Having Hope at Home and the internationally acclaimed Danny, King of the Basement which has been seen by over half a million people in North America alone.

2014 Honourary Chair

Chris HadfieldTheatre Ontario is thrilled to welcome Chris Hadfield as our Honourary Festival Chair for Theatre Ontario Festival 2014. Sarnia-born, he became an international icon during his time as Commander of the International Space Station, sharing commentary and images, and connecting audiences on Earth with the spectacle of space.
