Front of House & Patron Safety

When a patron experiences an injury or illness on theatre property, qualified staff/volunteers (including Front of House Managers) will need to provide prompt emergency assistance.  The resources below can equip front of house workers to effectively deal with injuries, illness and evacuations of the theatre.

This information sheet outlines various policies and procedures that can be adopted by those working in a theatre's front of house.

Patron Injury/Illness Policy & Procedures (PDF file)
This policy should be passed by your theatre's Board of Directors.  It clearly explains policy, procedures and responsibilities of those encountering a patron injury or illness.

Patron Injury/Illness Report and Ambulance Refusal Form (PDF file)
This form will help you document a patron's injury or illness.  The Ambulance Refusal Form can be used when a patron, who it is thought should take an ambulance to seek medical aid, decides not to use the services of the ambulance.
