Monologues allow for a powerful and meaningful connection with the audience, whether it is in an audition or on the stage. They are often considered to be a nerve wracking performance experience, however they are a brilliant way to hone and develop the actors’ technique and skill. Bring sparkling life to character and text through a positive and practical approach to rehearsing and working on these solo pieces of theatre. Find that perfect piece and craft it into a shining gem. Constructive feedback, direction, Chekhov Technique and performance opportunities are all part of the process of learning to love your monologue in this course!
Meet the Instructor...
Peggy Coffey began her professional career as an actor in 1977 at The Canadian Mime Theatre in Niagara-on-the-lake. Peggy is an accomplished actor, director and instructor. She has played leading roles in theatres across Canada and is a veteran of The Stratford Festival. Teaching credits include: The Stratford Festival, Sheridan College, St. Clair College. Most recently Peggy joined The Birmingham Conservatory at The Stratford Festival teaching Chekhov Technique.
