Notice of Annual General Meeting 2014

The Theatre Ontario 2014 Annual General Meeting will be held Monday, May 5 at 7:00pm at the Urbanspace Gallery, 401 Richmond Street West, Toronto, Ontario.

Attending the Meeting

The meeting is open to all, but only members in good standing can vote on business before the meeting.

If you are a Theatre Ontario member and are unable to attend the Annual General Meeting, you can be represented by proxy.

The proxy form must be completed, signed, and returned to Theatre Ontario by May 2 at 5pm (to ensure delivery to the meeting), or it can be submitted in-person at the Annual General Meeting.

Report of the Nominating Committee

The Board of Directors is made up of fifteen individuals. Board members serve two-year terms for a maximum of three terms (six years.)

Six individuals began two-year terms beginning in 2013 through to 2015. They are:

  • Kenny Chan (Toronto)
  • Helen Landry (Sudbury)
  • Kristina Nicoll (Toronto)
  • Ted Sellers (Oshawa)
  • Deb Sholdice (Clinton)
  • Joanne Williams (Toronto)

Nine positions shall be elected for two-year terms beginning in 2014 through to 2016. We have received seven nominations for election to the Board. Nominations are now closed and are not permitted from the floor at the AGM. The nominees are:

  • Betsy Chaly (Toronto), who was appointed to the Board after the 2013 AGM, is standing for election to a first two-year term
  • Kevin D. Clarke (Toronto), who was appointed to the Board after the 2013 AGM, is standing for election to a first two-year term
  • Paul Groulx (Milton), who was appointed to the Board after the 2013 AGM, is standing for election to a first two-year term
  • Elley-Ray Hennessy (Toronto) is standing for re-election to a second two-year term
  • Cam Lund (Newmarket) is standing for re-election to a third two-year term
  • Mark Mooney (London) is standing for re-election to a third two-year term
  • Liz Schell (Kingston) is standing for re-election to a second two-year term

As per the by-laws, a vote to approve the slate of candidates shall be held at the Annual General Meeting. The remaining two vacancies shall be resolved in accordance with the by-laws of Theatre Ontario.
