Theatre Ontario Festival 2018 is co-hosted by Theatre Ontario, London Community Players, and the Western Ontario Drama League.

Our adjudicator at Theatre Ontario Festival 2018 is Maja Ardal.

Maja has been working in theatre for forty-seven years. She is a director, playwright, actor, and theatre trainer. Her musical play, The Hero of Hunter Street, was produced by 4th Line Theatre in 2016. She researched and created One Thing Leads to Another, Theatre for Babies, produced by Young People’s Theatre, receiving two Dora Awards in 2015. It will tour Ontario in 2018, and she is developing the sequel, You and I.

Our Playwright-in-Person at Theatre Ontario Festival 2018 is Lisa Codrington.

Lisa Codrington is a Toronto-based actor and writer. Her writing has been produced in Toronto, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Winnipeg and Barbados, and has been published by Playwrights Canada Press, McGraw-Hill Ryerson and in Canadian Theatre Review.

Lisa will be reading frmo her work on Friday afternoon.

Honourary Chair


Our Honourary Chair at Theatre Ontario Festival 2018 is Allan Stratton.

Allan Stratton’s Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii, one of the most produced plays in Canadian history, is now in its third year in Polish translation at Warsaw’s Teatr Capitol. Other plays, including Rexy!, Papers, and Bag Babies, have won the Canadian Authors Association Award, the Dora Mavor Moore Award, the Chalmers Award, and a nomination for the Governor General’s Award.

The Theatre Ontario Festival 2018 Awards were presented on Sunday, May 20.

The Michael Spence Award for Contribution to Community Theatre was presented to Susan M. Perkins of London.
