John Lazarus


John Lazarus’ plays, including Babel Rap, Dreaming and Duelling, The Late Blumer, Village of Idiots, Rough Magic, and the “Not So Dumb” plays for young audiences, have been produced across Canada and around the world. He has taught at Studio 58, Vancouver Film School and his alma mater, the National Theatre School. He currently teaches Drama at Queen’s University. Recent plays include Trouble on Dibble Street (St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival); Old Enough to Kill (Gnu Ground); and The Grandkid (Theatre Kingston, Gateway Theatre, Driftwood Players; published by Playwrights Canada Press). He has a new one-act, Exposure, at the 2015 Toronto Fringe, and a 10-minute play at Convergence Theatre’s “Auto Show”, Kingston. John gives workshops in constructing plots and generating dialogue.
