James Simon

James Simon is currently the Artistic Director of George Brown College’s highly respected Theatre School. Holding an undergraduate degree in English and Drama (McGill University) and graduate degree from the University of Alberta’s Drama Department, James has also trained at the Banff Centre for the Arts. He has taught at the University of Alberta, Grant MacEwan Community College (Edmonton), Young People’s Theatre, Theatre Ontario, and joined the faculty at George Brown College in 1995. His professional directing credits include work at the Citadel Theatre, the National Arts Centre, the Blyth Festival, Young People’s Theatre, Carousel Players, Buddies in Bad Times (Dora nomination), Theatre on the Move, Berkeley Street Theatre, and a variety of theatre for young audience shows, created to tour to North American symphony orchestras.
