Support Us

Logo SupportourjourneytogetherThis has traditionally been a time of year when we reach out to our community for your support as donors to Theatre Ontario.

Our need has now become more urgent than ever.

Our donors are vital for sustaining our activities at Theatre Ontario.

As we look ahead, we see opportunities for our community:

  • Finding a strategy to sustain our Professional Theatre Training Program and Youth Theatre Training Program: These programs are a legacy of knowledge shared from generation to generation. We do not want to see the suspension of public funding for these programs to create a "lost generation" of Ontario theatre artists
  • Facilitating mentoring introductions: Our Youth Advisory Committee has been working to create in-person meet-and-greets at Ontario theatres this Fall
  • Creating opportunities for under-represented communities: Our Next Generation Showcase of graduating theatre students celebrated its 25th Showcase this past year – and we want to continue to expand opportunities to be seen for both New Faces and for the changing faces of graduating classes
  • Training theatre creators: Our Summer Theatre Intensive is going "back to school" this year for a campus-based intensive training experience in Kingston at Queen’s University with our traditional programs for new performers and directors, and unique offerings including our Devised Theatre course for intersectional artists
  • Celebrating community theatre: Our Theatre Ontario Festival in Richmond Hill featured sell-out performances; in 2020 we head north to Sault Ste. Marie to showcase, to educate, and to celebrate community theatre
  • Training adjudicators: For our Adjudicator Professional Development program, we want to create more opportunities for adjudicators to learn skills in the classroom and to practice skills in the theatre
  • Expanding training opportunities: We want to expand our workshop series beyond the classroom with accessible, province-wide webinars

The only way we will be able to realize these opportunities are through your donations to us.

If you are someone who feels our work is important and needs to continue, please join our team of champions as a Donor and help us continue to build a contemporary Theatre Ontario as the service organization that Ontario’s theatre community needs.
