Badian_Marie_BeathMarie Beath Badian is a Toronto-based playwright, performer and arts educator. As a playwright, her plays include Prairie Nurse (Blyth Festival), The Making of St. Jerome (Next Stage Theatre Festival, nominated for three Dora Mavor Moore Awards), Mind Over Matter (part of AutoShow, Convergence Theatre), and Novena (UnoFestival Victoria, Toronto Fringe Festival). Her radio work includes Yellow Rubber Boots (CBC Outfront) and an adaption her show of Novena (CBC Radio – The Drama of Immigration). She was Playwright-in-Residence for fu-Gen Asian-Canadian Theatre Company (2008-2009) and Project:Humanity (2010-2011). She was a member of the 2010 HotHouse Playwright Unit at Cahoots Theatre Company, 2011/2013 Tarragon Playwright Unit, 2015 Soulpepper Playwrights’ Circle and the 2016 Factory Theatre’s Natural Resources creators unit. Marie Beath spent two seasons as Director of the Blyth Festival Young Company, two seasons as Co-Director of Youth Programs at Nightwood Theatre, two seasons as Associate Artistic Director/Associate Artist at Theatre Direct Canada, and five seasons as the Program Director for the Play Creation Unit at Carlos Bulosan Theatre. She is a theatre instructor at Humber College School of Creative and Performing Arts. She is Artistic Director of SMOOTHIELAND Performance Projects, a new TYA Company creating Episodic Youth Theatre.

Sandler_KatKat Sandler is a writer, director and the Artistic Director of Theatre Brouhaha. She has directed fourteen of her original plays, including the Dora-nominated Bang Bang (Factory Theatre), the Toronto Best of Fringe hits Bright Lights, Punch Up and Help Yourself (winner of the New Play Contest), Delicacy (Summerworks Spotlight Award), and Liver, Cockfight and Retreat (Storefront Theatre). Other directing credits include Big Plans, 27 Wagons Full of Cotton, Cabaret, and The Goat, or Who is Sylvia. Her play Mustard won the 2016 Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Play (General Division). She was the 2015 recipient of NOW Magazine’s Audience Choice Award for Best Director and Best Playwright. She is the Canada Council Playwright-in-Residence at Tarragon Theatre, and currently developing two new plays for the Citadel Theatre's 2018/19 season, designed to run simultaneously in two different spaces. Kat is a graduate of Queen’s University.
