Welcome Rachel Kennedy as Professional Theatre and Education Manager

Theatre Ontario bids adieu to Rebecca Ballarin and welcomes Rachel Kennedy as Professional Theatre and Education Manager.

Theatre Ontario regretfully announces that Rebecca Ballarin, Professional Theatre and Education Manager, will be leaving Theatre Ontario at the beginning of June.

"The decision to leave Theatre Ontario has not been an easy one," said Rebecca. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the organization and have learned so much from my fellow staff members, as well as the membership we serve. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to oversee the delivery of so many vital programs to the professional and educational theatre sectors, and to see first-hand the diligence with which arts service organizations advocate on behalf of the artists in our community. I look forward to both accessing and promoting the services that Theatre Ontario has to offer as I move forward with the next stage of my career as a theatre artist."

"We are saddened to have Rebecca leave us, as she has added greatly to the organization with her energy, insights and humour," said Bruce Pitkin, Executive Director. "We also wish her well in the next stage of her career with her upcoming projects."

At the same time, we are also pleased to welcome Rachel Kennedy as Professional Theatre and Education Manager.Kennedy_Rachel

Rachel is a recent graduate of York University's theatre program, where she developed a passion for arts administration. Since graduating she has produced, directed, and stage managed for various theatre companies in Toronto while working as the Outreach and Development Coordinator for Playwrights Guild of Canada. Rachel is excited to join the team at Theatre Ontario and looks forward to fostering opportunities for professional development to both established and emerging artists across the province.

"Theatre Ontario feels very fortunate to have Rachel join our team," said Bruce. "She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of the theatre environment to her role here. With Rachel’s understanding and expertise in arts administration, she will make an invaluable contribution to our current and future programs. We are excited to have Rachel on board!"
