Call For Nominations For 2018-2019 Board of Directors

Theatre Ontario’s mission is "to be the champion of theatre in Ontario through education and advocacy."

Theatre Ontario is seeking individuals from across the province to serve on our Board of Directors. Successful applicants will support our mission in promoting a diverse, inclusive, equitable and accessible theatre culture in Ontario.

We are looking for nominees who are passionate about theatre and bring knowledge and/or skills in one or more areas of Board governance and leadership: strategic planning, fiscal oversight, collaborative partnerships, fundraising, community outreach and engagement, advocacy, human resources, policy, law, IT.

Board members are elected to a two-year term, for a maximum of three terms, and are expected:

  • to participate in Board meetings (usually held four times a year at our Head Office in Toronto)
  • to participate in at least one Board committee (minimum of four meetings a year, not necessarily in person), and
  • to engage in generating revenue (from fundraising, sponsorships, memberships, and services) on behalf of the organization.

Nominations for Election to the Board of Directors must be received at the Theatre Ontario office (401 Richmond Street West, Suite 350, Toronto, Ontario, M5V 3A8) by April 25 at 5pm.
