Welcome Raeburn Ferguson as Professional Theatre and Education Manager

Theatre Ontario regretfully announces that Rachel Kennedy, Professional Theatre and Education Manager, is leaving Theatre Ontario. She is departing to join the staff of the Toronto Arts Council.

We are excited to welcome Raeburn Ferguson, who will be joining us as our new Professional Theatre and Education Manager.

"I have had an incredible experience here at Theatre Ontario and am so thankful for the staff, community, and member relationships that I have made over the past few years," said Rachel. "It has been a pleasure to be a part of such an essential, innovative, and supportive organization that actively seeks out new ways to lift up theatre artists across the province. Working here has been a source of inspiration for me in both my administrative and creative roles. While I will greatly miss the family we have created here in Suite #350, I am excited to see Raeburn take hold of the reigns and add her enthusiasm, drive, and flare to our programming!"

Ferguson_RaeburnRaeburn is a graduate from York University where she studied Devised Theatre and Directing. Since graduating she has worked steadily in professional and community theatres around Ontario, strengthening her passion for creation and theatre education. In the last eight years she has been involved in over 40 theatrical productions in various capacities, and enjoys balancing her love of theatre both on and off the stage. Raeburn is a huge advocate for theatre and arts education and was the Director of the P.L.A.Y. Project, a youth theatre program at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga for two seasons. She also teaches dance, theatre and vocals to children ages 7-18. This past May she completed the Theatre Ontario Adjudication course. She has recently started her own theatre company Truesight Collective, and she is also the incoming President for Orangeville Music Theatre, a community theatre group she has been involved with for over ten years.

"I am so thrilled to continue my journey with Theatre Ontario in this new capacity," said Raeburn, "it has been a pleasure working with the TO board and staff. I look forward to strengthening these relationships and continuing the incredible work Rachel has done over the past few years with the organization."
